In spring 2024, I was the invited speaker for the Indiana University Asian Culture Center’s “Over a Cup of Tea” event. I presented my co-authored archival project on Japanese American students at MacMurray College.

 

IC Press Release, “IC Students Gain Hands-On Experience Working with New Museum”

In 2022, I oversaw a team of sociology majors in projects exploring WWII-era student archives from the late MacMurray College. Their contributions will form the basis of a new exhibit about college life in past times.

During spring 2021, sociology senior Muamer Kermo and I collaborated on two community-based research projects for Passavant Area Hospital and the Tracy Family Foundation.

June 2021, I served as an expert guest for a community discussion of the book Evicted and of housing insecurity in Jacksonville, IL. This virtual event, co-sponsored by the Jacksonville Public Library and the American Library Association, was featured in the Jacksonville Journal-Courier.
